Yesterday I went to a hotel for having dinner. it was a local hotel, at karukapally,near kaloor.I ordered for the so called 'malayale's desiya bakshanam' porotta n beef.I usually don't have porottas, but yesterday I just had a tendency to hav it. Anyway this is not about my food.I was seated in the farthest corner of d hotel,which was near the kitchen.waiter brought me my food. Just then a guy came & sat opposite me with a plate.I looked up & recognized it as another waiter of that hotel.a guy of 18.he was having his dinner.he had brought himself 2 parattas n beef gravy. Before I cud finish my 1st paratta he finished his food.While having the food he was looking at the counter frequently.He had a fear in his face as if he was doing some theft. He finished n went with his plate & came back with another plate of rice.He had that & went back to kitchen soon.this time also he frequently was looking at the counter when having food.I realized that he was having his food stealthly, without his boss's knowledge.May be too he was hungry!
Just imagine a kid has to have his food stealthly n tensed & I was thinking I was having a lot of preassure at my office. I'm having pressure still I can have food when I like & what I like.I don't have to do it hidden from some one. I was thinking that there would be lot of teenagers working like this in Kochi.may be in much worse conditions. Who can't have enough food a day. Can't get a pay so dat they can have a full stomach food. Last day one of my colleague was little upset because her wound-be is not so enthusiastic about Café coffee day & mac donald's.She wishes to go there frequently. At coffee day one may pay around Rs.60 just for a drink. The waiter I talked about, earlier will have to work for a week or so to save Rs.60 from his daily wages.This amount could fetch some one a full day's food. And we such irresponsible so called IT guys spend money without any care on un wanted things.Ok, we can say a lot of things like, we earn, so we spend. Or like, I studied well and so I got a decent job..etc etc.. But just think. Can you justify yourself.I'm not being a saint. I have done things like this.I have spend money on really really unwanted things a lot. Its time to think. Ok, leave that. Recently we had our general elections on April 16th.How many of you have cast your votes? Lot of my friends hasn't. But those who we call as 'poor' or 'bellow poverty line', majority of them would have cast their votes.Just in the dream of a better tomorrow for them or atleast for their kids, a little higher standard of living, 3 times food a day,better education for their kids. They know these political parties, they are just creating dramas. But they still think some one, some day will do something for them.And so they cast their votes.
And what do we do.We sit at home and watch serials and movies.When some bloodys sceens are shown, we say "o my God!" and then change the channel. We blame the politicians for their irresponsiblities. We blame them for bad roads. We blame them when there is power cut, when water supply is intrupted.We just blame politicians and government staffs.And what do we do?Nothing other than blaming.We dumb waste of our home on the near by open space.We spit on public places.We throw wastes on road.Then we starts blaming government for all those garbages being not removed. We offer bribes to government staffs to get our things done easily and we say 'The whole system is corrupted'. We waste water and electricity and the blame government when there is a power cut or water supply is intruppted.
And when its time to select a government, we just back of as if its others duties. And the reason most say for not voting, 'Every body is corrupted. If we vote also whom should we Vote for?' What an excuse.If u have such problem why don't you get to politics? How can you do that, right? Coz its not your duty.Its others. You have got ypur own family to take care off. We always cry for our rights.But we usually forgets that to availing these rights we have to do our duties to this country.But who cares? Every body likes to be selfish. But we all are forgetting something.If Gandhiji was selfish, we would still under British rule.Subash chandra bose, Baghath sing, Chandra shekar Azad, all gave their life for this country. Its their lifes they paid with to get this countries freedom. 'The freedom to blame'.

You know, i told everyone in my office to cast there vote so that we can hope for a better future by cating vote to the right person. I don't belive in rapid change but in radical socialism where changes should come from the root and slowly.
People from other states always told me that kerala is the place where no developement will be allowed officially by Govt.
One more thing we have to think about is the IT people are ruining the sorroundings in a way that they will spend lot of money to the market without even care about whether the goods they are buying worth it or not. They will not bargain. Just a small example: fisher man from chennai IT area is asking too much money for even local fish and the IT people will buy it without bargain. What will happen to the common people if fisher men is asking same amount to them since he know he is having good customers who will buy things without bagaining. Same apply for house rent also.....
